An exploration of the intimate relationship between the camera, the self and sensual femininity. Through the hermetic process of self-portraiture, the often repressed, feminine sexuality is free to perform and play. This personal sense of womanhood flourishes in the private environment cultivated through self-directed image making. An elusive and fleeting feminine experience is captured and embodied, in the photographer’s own image. The series intricately abstracts the connection between the body, the self and the camera. Revealing the altering levels of awareness the photographer feels towards each element, as the hapticity of the photographic act sinks into a more sensuous state of being with the performative body.
